[Egypt] First phase of unified automated tax system launch announced

On January 3, Mohamed Maait - Egypt’s Minister of Finance - announced the launch of the first phase of the unified automated tax system at large and middle financiers' centres and senior liberal professions. The first phase announcement was made during Mr Maait’s inauguration of the financiers' service centres known as "front offices."

The Minister also inaugurated self-service halls in centres of large and middle financiers and major liberal professions. Such centres are intended to help financiers or taxpayers by providing the necessary technical support to self-manage the system of unified automated tax procedures. Mr Maait emphasised that the launch was part of of the first phase of the national project to modernise and automate the country's tax administration system. Egypt Today has further details of the minister’s announcement.
