[France] Minimum wage will increase 2.19% from May 1

France's minimum wage will rise by 2.19 per cent to 11.52 euros per hour on May 1, in a bid to help workers cope with inflation, Zawya reports.

News of the increase was announced by the country's labour ministry.

The bump will lift the monthly minimum wage to 1,747.20 euros in gross terms from 1,709.28 euros previously.

Data released on April 14 reportedly revealed that the final figure for France's annual inflation in March came in slightly higher than previously expected, at 5.7 per cent, although this represented a decline from 6.3 per cent in February.
