[UK] Employer Bulletin February 2020

HMRC have published their Employer Bulletin that is billed as ‘Your route to the latest in payroll news’.  Indeed, February’s edition is full of information for employers, some of which is summarised as follows: 

• Review of off-payroll working rules from April 2020 – a reminder of the review ahead of the new rules from April 2020
• NIC thresholds and Statutory Payments rates 2020-2021 – which the Global Payroll Association have already published
• Electronic payment 22 February 2020 – a reminder that this date falls on a weekend
• Student and Postgraduate Loan thresholds - which the Global Payroll Association have already published
• National Minimum and National Living Wage rates – which we have already published stating, correctly, that they do not apply from the 1^st of April 2020 as the Employer Bulletin claims
• End of year reporting 2020 – a reminder that employers need to indicate that this is their final 2019/20 RTI submission
• Parental Bereavement Leave and Pay – a good overview of the new statutory payment from April 2020
• Employment Allowance reforms – a good summary of the changes from April 2020
• P9 Notice of Coding run – advice that that the 2020/21 coding run has started
• Basic PAYE Tools – advice that there will be a new release at the end of March 2020
