Ras Al Khaimah - the northernmost of the seven Emirates of the United Arab Emirates - has secured the top position in a survey of the world’s best expat destinations, Financial Post reports.
The Emirate came number one out of 53 cities in the Expat Essentials Index, conducted by InterNations - the largest global expatriate network with 5.4 million+ members in 420 cities and 166 countries - as part of its 2024 Expat Insider report.
The Index is reportedly based on four categories:
- Admin - how easy it is to get a visa, deal with local bureaucracy, open a bank account etc.
- Housing - the affordability of housing, ease of finding accommodation
- Digital Life - the availability of government services online, high-speed internet
- Language - how easy it is to integrate without speaking the local language
Such international recognition is a further step in Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to creating an exceptional living and working environment for its diverse and growing expat community, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
In response to news of the wim, Her Excellency Ms. Heba Fatani, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office, said, “This achievement reflects our dedication to creating a safe, welcoming and thriving community that attracts individuals from all over. Ras Al Khaimah’s unique blend of modern infrastructure, spectacular natural environment, rich history and culture, and thriving business and tourism landscapes contribute to its reputation as a leading destination for expatriates wishing to live and work, or establish businesses here.”
