This course is aimed at those Payroll & HR Professionals who are processing or managing Vendors who process Payrolls in Nigeria and need to have an understanding of the legislative and legal requirements involved.

Having attended this course delegates will have confidence that they understand the fundamentals of payroll processing in Nigeria, are clear about employer obligations, know what they need to do on both a periodic and annual basis, can answer employee queries and check payslips. Even if payrolls are outsourced it is still the employer’s responsibility to ensure all obligations are met and that tax and social security are correctly processed. This course not only gives you the information you need to be compliant but also ensures you know exactly what information should be given to a payroll provider and the various tasks they should be completing on your behalf.

What will be covered?
Nigeria is located in the West of Africa and the capital city is Abuja. A multi-ethnic and culturally diverse federation which consists of 36 autonomous states and the Federal Capital Territory. The tax authority, tax year and currency are further detailed in the course.
Hours of Work:
The number of regular working hours and when an employee should be paid for overtime as well as Public Holiday and Sunday work payments are supported with calculation examples.
Leave that employees are entitled to, and the employee payment during statutory leave breaks are clarified.
It is important that employers are aware of statutory contribution calculation towards NPS, NHF, NHIF, ITF to name a few examples.
The submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reports within the required time frame and submission method, will ensure that employers do not pay penalties or interest.
A basic Nigeria payroll tax calculation is explored to gain a fundamental understanding of the taxable parameters.
