12:05 - 12:50 | Latest Holiday Pay updates that Impact The Payroll Industry Holiday pay has been one of the most complex and confusing areas having to align with EU regulations. Now we have BREXIT, some EU elements can now be revised. In the name of simplification, for the majority there is no change, there is still a 5.6 paid weeks entitlement using 52 paid week earnings average. However, for holiday years commencing on or after 1st April 2024, UK Working Time Regulations bring into play two new holiday requirements for irregular hours and part year worker: Accrual and Rolled Up Holiday. Simple, far from it especially for the majority who are not weekly paid! There are new protections for sickness and statutory parental leave which make the process especially challenging.
