In a really helpful document published on the 11th of January 2019, HMRC have published a lot of the rates and thresholds that are appropriate for payroll for the tax year 2019/20.
Some of these the Global Payroll Association have published before but have held back on the thresholds for student loans until they were confirmed. Now we have the information and we show this in table format below comparing the thresholds for 2019/20 to those that apply in 2018/19. Note that:
- UGL = Undergraduate Student Loans (the current plan 1 and 2 loans)
- PGL = Postgraduate Student Loans (new to payroll from 2019/20)
