From September 30, 2021, the minimum wage in Florida will increase to $10.00 per hour from its current rate of $8.65 per hour, JD Supra reports.
The increase is the result of a state constitutional amendment - approved by Florida voters in November 2020 - to raise the state minimum wage to $15.00 by 2026 for employees working in Florida.
Florida’s minimum wage will increase by $1.00 each subsequent year on September 30 until the minimum wage reaches $15.00.
Employers may continue to take a $3.02 tip credit towards the minimum wage payable to their tipped employees working in Florida.
