Employers willing to hire retirement-aged staff could receive a PLN 1,800 (EUR 370) support bonus for each employee over a period of 24 months under a new government plan, The First News reports.
The bonus is intended to encourage the employment of older people and is part of broader legislation aimed at increasing the professional participation of the elderly in the workforce, according to Fakt tabloid reporting.
The legislation, currently under preparation, is one of the "milestones" Poland must fulfil in order to unblock funding from an EU post-pandemic recovery fund, Fakt wrote.
The publication reported that employers who decide to take the bonus will be obliged to employ the elderly staff for whom the bonus was received for at least 12 further months after the expiry of the bonus.
