[UK] Renew your Tax Credits

HMRC have started a marketing campaign to remind existing customers to renew their tax credit claims by the 31st of July 2019.  If they do not, their credits will stop.

 

Employers are advised to be in a situation to advise their employees on this renewal date if this is required.  But the Global Payroll Association stresses that employers are not tax credit advisers and whether to renew a claim or not is the individual’s responsibility.

 

HMRC are not taking new tax credit claims.  Tax credits have been replaced by Universal Credit for most people and individuals can only make a new claim for tax credits if they get the severe disability premium or got it in the past month and are still eligible for it.  Where an individual would normally make a claim for tax credits, they may be able to apply for:
