Help and Support for Self-Assessment
29 Apr 2019

The 2018/19 tax year is not fully completed until individuals have completed their tax returns.  So the Global Payroll Association is more than pleased to promote and point readers to HMRC’s series of videos and webinars, many of which are on their YouTube playlist.  These were updated on the 23rd of April 2019.

We know that many professionals will not be able to access this at the workplace so we point you to the gov.uk page where the following can be viewed:

  • Registering for Self-Assessment
  • Income from property tax return
  • Expenses for the self-employed
  • Viewing the calculations

Beneath these clips are links to pre-recorded webinars which require registration and cover the following topics:

  • Who must send a return
  • Starting the online return
  • The employment pages
  • The self-employment section (turnover below VAT threshold)
  • The self-employment section (turnover above VAT threshold)
  • The UK property section
  • Other income to enter on the Self-Assessment return
  • Tax relief for individuals
  • Finishing the return
