[Oman] Ministry of Labour inspection campaign to regulate market

Oman’s Ministry of Labour (MoL) has been carrying out inspection campaigns in different parts of the sultanate since the beginning of the year, Muscat Daily reports.

To date, a total of 4,149 MoL inspection campaigns have been carried out. They form part of efforts to implement the provisions of Oman’s Labour Law and regulate the labour market

In Muscat, 2,066 campaigns were reportedly organised, while in Dakhliyah there were 458 campaigns. There were 474 in Dhahirah, 342 in South Batinah, 265 in North Batinah, 174 in South Sharqiyah, 156 in Dhofar, 154 in Al Wusta, 48 in North Sharqiyah and 12 in Buraimi. 

These campaigns are primarily centred around curbing illegal practices, regulating the labour market and rounding up illegal manpower.

Similar inspection campaigns are carried out jointly with different government departments, including municipalities, the Ministry of Education and the Royal Oman Police, according to the MoL.
