The number of expatriates working in Saudi Arabia fell by 257,200 during the third quarter of 2020, compared to the second quarter, Arab News reports.
The significant drop in expat workers was recorded in figures from a labour force survey conducted by the General Authority for Statistics.
Conversely, according to the same survey, the number of Saudis employed in the labour market rose by 81,900 quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) during the same period and reached 3.25 million.
The Saudi labour market was affected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic during Q2 and Q3 2020 and the figures reflect this knock-on effect.
