[Saudi Arabia] Important decision for expatriate workers announced

On October 9, Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi - the Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development - issued a new decision regarding expatriate workers. The minister’s decision will see work contracts to mediate the recruitment of domestic workers resume from October 7, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The decision stipulated that the period of recruitment for new contracts would be 120 days. In the event that the licensee delayed the recruitment of the domestic worker within a period of 120 days, the contract would be automatically extended for an additional 30 days, together with the imposition of a fine for delay on the licensee.
