The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the imposition of a fine of Saudi Riyal 10,000 and a five-year ban on anyone allowing employees to work for others or for workers’ own personal benefit or anyone employing illegal expatriate workers, The Siasat Daily reports.
The Saudi Public Prosecution has warned of several penalties against commercial establishments found to be employing expatriate workers who are residing in the Kingdom illegally. In addition, the names of offending companies will be published in local media at their own expense.
The Public Prosecution reportedly said that the penalties also include imprisonment for up to one year for the managing director of the firm. The announcement noted that offending employers will be deported from Saudi Arabia if they are expatriates.
The Public Prosecution also called for members of the public to report violators of the residency, work and border security regulations.
If any such cases are detected authorities can be notified with a phone call to 911 in the regions of Makkah and Riyadh and 999 in the rest of the regions across the Kingdom.
