Belgian HR software and service provider SD Worx has purchased 40% of shares in France-based Software-as-a-Service payroll vendor GlobePayroll.
SD Worx believes the investment will enable it to accelerate its international growth plans and give GlobePayroll the financial resources it needs for further expansion.
Jean-Luc Barbier, vice president of SD Worx Global Solutions, said: "There are many synergies between the two companies. For example, we both focus on companies that operate in multiple countries, and we both innovate to provide our customers with the best possible service."
GlobePayroll claimed it was the first company to release a fully cloud-based core HR and payroll system aimed at the multi-country market. The goal is now to sell its payroll applications into more than 30 countries within five years, processing over half a million international payroll calculations per month in the process.
GlobePayroll’s chief executive Jean-Baptiste de Charette, said: "This partnership is an open door to new markets already covered by SD Worx, where we will find strong and reliable expertise to accelerate our go-to-market strategies.
SD Worx also entered the staffing market last year with the acquisition of VIO Interim, according to Staffing Industry. More recently, it bought Dutch-based Flexpoint Group, which includes a number of companies active in the fields of temporary employment, secondment and HR consultancy.
