It is no secret that there have been problems with the starter checklist and expat equivalent. It was issued, withdrawn and then reissued.
The Global Payroll Association is aware that employers have found this confusing and this is totally understandable. But using the right version for new starters from April 2019 is absolutely essential as the right version will ask the relevant questions to find out if the employee has a student loan, including the new postgraduate loan.
So we have uploaded the latest versions of the checklist to our website. As highlighted by Kate Upcraft at the GPA Summit on the 14th of March 2019, the most recent versions are the one that say ‘HMRC 02/19’ in the bottom right hand corner of page 1.
